Hello artists out there,
I've been speaking to a comedian and Stand Comedy Club regular, Martin Mor, who's looking for some portraits for his 2012 Edinburgh Fringe show.
"I am performing a new hour of stand up comedy at this years Edinburgh Festival. The show is called “A man you don’t meet every day”. In this show I will be talking about aspects of identity; how we see ourselves, how others see us.
With this in mind I am looking for portraits of myself done in different styles, as varied as possible.
Some of the portraits will be done by artists who know me very well, and who are close friends, some will be by people who only know me from seeing my shows, and some of the works will be by people who have just worked from photographs.
I will be available to sit for some of the work.
I am also planning to get a portrait done by someone who has no idea what I look like, but is working from description.
What’s in it for you?
As I am hoping for 20+ portraits, I can’t afford to pay for them, (taking a show to the Edinburgh Festival is already extremely expensive).
I can offer the following:
Be part of an interesting project.
Have your work displayed during the Festival, I am looking at the possibility of having the work on display during the daytime in a prominent location, but this is unconfirmed as yet. It will definitely be displayed during the show.
All work will have the artists name displayed, and I will make your contact details available to any interested parties."
Message me here or email firstname.lastname@example.org (Lizzie) if you're interested in this project and I can put yous in touch.
