We'll answered some common questions people might have about the site below. Please feel free to ask anything else you're confused about.
How do I sign up?
You can create your own ID for the site (hosted by Ning) or you can sign in using an OpenID from Facebook or Google.
What can I use the site for?
Anything you like. This is a community space for writers and artists in Scotland. It really is your space, so feel free to take it over. Post blogs, start discussions, share your work, advertise opportunities or invite people to events. The site is moderated but only to eliminate bullying and unacceptable behaviour and make sure it remains a friendly and accessible site for everyone.
What will you do with my information?
Mostly, nothing at all. Your email address and all other details remain completely confidential. We do run a mailing list, but if you'd like to join that, you can sign up separately - you don't automatically get added to any lists. You can change your privacy and notifications from the Settings option in the control panel.
We will occasionally share blog posts and discussions on our Facebook group and on Twitter, or mention you in our fortnightly newsletter. If you'd rather we didn't, though, just let us know.
Why do I have to tell you my gender and birthday?
The law requires anyone signing up to the site to be over 13, so we need to check your age. You can choose not to display it.
We're interested in people's gender for statistical purposes, but again you don't have to tell us, or can choose not to display it. The options are gender-binary right now, but we're looking into this.
What do I do if I'm having problems?
Email Lizzie through the site, or contact us on info@graphicscotland.co.uk. You could also ask a question below.
